DAY : BUS TRANSFER TO RIJEKA & ZAGREB
Travel to Rijeka. Upon arrival take a walking tour in Rijeka. Explore the City Clock Tower, Municipal Palace, Church of St-Jerome. Stop by the Main Market to grab some things for lunch today and picnic lunch at park of National Theatre or at Katarina peer. Take a walk through the Korzo. This afternoon travel along the coast to Opatija with the most stunning coastal views of Croatia. Dinner in local restaurant in Opatija. This evening, take a tour of the astronomical centre Rijeka – the largest project of technological culture in Croatia.
DAY 2: RIJEKA/ EXCURSION TO ISTRIA
Breakfast at your hostel. This morning discover the Istrian peninsula with your tour guide. Each of Istria’s towns is unique and your day will include some of the prettiest and most important: Pula, with its well-preserved Roman Arena, and the towns of Rovinj and Porec. Lunch in a local tavern. Return late to your hotel after a long day of touring
DAY 3: RIJEKA TO ZAGREB
Transfer to Zagreb. Walking tour of Zagreb - explore Tkalciceva Ulica and Upper town - Cathedral, Main city square, Kamenita vrata and ending at Dolac Market (to pick up food for their lunch). Picnic at Maksimir Park (whichever is closest to the market). Visit to Croatian History Museum where they will have exhibition of Croatian Independence War from end of 20th century. Dinner in local restaurant.
DAY 4: ZAGREB – MEDVEDNICA – VARAZDIN
This morning, transfer from Zagreb for the day. Pack your lunch and take a hike!! Literally. Take the morning and climb Mt Medvednica, visit Medvedgrad – medieval town in heart of “Bear Mountain”. For dinner we will go to Varazdin, often called Little Vienna, it is former capital of Croatia. In its little streets we will find nice restaurants where we will have traditional dinner. Depart to Zagreb for overnight.
DAY 5: RETURN HOME
After breakfast at the hotel transfer to the airport and board your flight back home
