This tour, we start our visit to the new Capital Vientiane, the sleepy city and then we move up by flight to Luangprabang the old Royal Capital of Laos Lanexang. Vientiane located along the Mekong River, the border between Laos and Thailand. Visit the old temples and museum dated 16th century, the colonial houses of French, the Central of commerce. Luangprabang the old Royal Capital, the city itself has been classified by UNESCO as the world Heritage city in 1995. It is may be the last city in Southeast Asia with well preserved their culture and tradition, their architecture, the life of people and environment. Visit the oldest temples dated 16th century, National Museum in the Ancient Royal Palace, Cruise on the Mekong to the Buddhist caves of Pak Ou.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL - VIENTIANE

Arrive in Vientiane by The Friendship Bridge or Wattay Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Then in the afternoon we will tour the city visiting the major sights of the capital including Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple which was built in 1818 and houses thousands of Buddha statues and the Ho Prakeo museum, former royal temple that was previously home to the famous Emerald Buddha which is now residing in Bangkok. Then we’re off to That Luang, the golden Buddist Stupa is the most famous landmark in Vientiane. It was constructed in 1566 by King Setthatirat and restored in 1935. It is generally regarded as the most important national monument in Laos and a national symbol. Afterwards we’ll head to Patouxai “the victory gate”, Constructed in 1958 its architecture is inspired by the Arc de Triumph in Paris, from the top on a clear day you’ll get a great view of Vientiane City. Overnight stay will in Vientiane.

DAY 2: VIENTIANE – LUANG PRABANG (B)

A short morning flight to Luang Prabang, perhaps the best preserved traditional city in South East Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. After a short rest, we visit the impressive Stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Mai. We then climb to the top of Phousi Hill for sweeping views of the city and surrounding hills. We will also see the sacred Guilded Stupa and a breathtaking view of the sunset over the Mekong River and city. Finally we take some time to visit the night market before returning to our hotel.

DAY 3: LUANG PRABANG – PAK OU – LUANG PRABANG (B)

After breakfast we enjoy a short guided tour of the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, as well as being the oldest temple in Luang Prabang its also one of the most beautiful. Its ordination hall was constructed in 1560 under the reign of King Setthathirath. The sweeping roofs of the ordination hall define the typical Luang Prabang architectural style. We then board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River which gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside. We’ll also visit the magnificent Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues. Along the way we stop at the village of Ban Xang Hai (the jar-maker village) which was the traditional industry of the village in the past. These days the villagers source the jars from elsewhere and fill them with Lao Lao(rice whiskey) that they brew here. You can sample this fire water if you like ! On return, we take a short drive to Ban Phanom. Here we can watch the local village women hand weaving in traditional style. Then its back for an overnight stay in Luang Prabang.

DAY: 4 – LUANG PRABANG –VIENTIANE (B)

After breakfast we will the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the early kings right through to the last sovereign, and then we’ll go to the Central Market to peruse the many different stalls. We then proceed to the airport for our flight to Vientiane . After checking into our hotel in Vientiane we then board our bus and go a little way out of town to Buddha Park, a blend of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures created by a mystical monk on a parkland located by the Mekong River we’ll then take a look at the impressive Friendship Bridge, opened April 8,1994, it was the first bridge across the lower Mekong.At a cost of US $30 million it was funded by the Australian government as a development aid to Laos.A view of the spectacular sunset over the Mekong River is the perfect way to finish the day. Overnight will in Vientiane.

DAY 5: - VIENTIANE – DEPARTURE (B)

After breakfast you’ll have free time before transferring to Wattay Airport for your departure.
