Vacation Activities Information
Day 1: ZAGREB

Arrival to Zagreb. Free time. Accommodation at the hotel. Overnight.

Day 2: ZAGREB

Tour of Zagreb including the fortified upper town, the town’s historical center, the main square, St. Mark’s church with its multicolored roof, the Cathedral and the Croatian National Theatre. We will visit the Judaica collection Museum of Arts and Crafts - lectures on Jewish history in Zagreb, meeting with members of Jewish studies department. Shabbat.

Day 3: Zagreb

Shabbat.

Day 4: ZAGREB - VARAZDIN – CAKOVEC – ZAGREB

Visit to Varazdin - the baroque capital of Croatia including a tour of the old town, National Theatre, Varazdin Cemetery… Depart for Cakovec. Sightseeing tour of Cakovec, with rich Jewish history. Return to Zagreb for overnight.

Day 5: ZAGREB – SKOCJAN CAVES PARK – ZAGREB

Depart to Slovenia, Visit the Skocjan Caves entered on UNESCO’s list of world heritage sites in 1986. The Skocjan Caves are, above all, a natural phenomenon of global significance. Return to Zagreb. Overnight.

Day 6: ZAGREB – KUMROVEC – KRAPINA – ZAGREB

Depart to Kumrovec. In Kumrovec you can visit the only museum in Croatia in the open in the centre of the village. That unique museum is consisted of several small cottages full of different traditional items used in daily life at the end of 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Kumrovec is also birth place of Josip Broz Tito. Depart to Krapina. Krapina is famous for an archaeological discovery in 1899, where a population of Neanderthals was discovered by geologist, archaeologist and paleontologist Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger. The archaeological discovery on a hill called Hušnjak unearth over eight hundred fossil remains depicting over almost 75 Neanderthals individuals, along with tools and weapons, making the site one of the most significant in Europe. Visit the Museum of evolution. Overnight in Zagreb.

Day 7: ZAGREB – TRAKOSCAN – VELIKI TABOR – ZAGREB

Visit the Trakoscan castle. In the early 1800s, Juraj Draπkovic restored the castle and turned it into a stately home which is now kept as an example of an unspoilt romantic park and aristocratic residence. Particularly worth seeing are the knights' and the hunt-rooms, the music-salon, the painter Julijana Erdoedy’s studio, the armory collection with pieces from the 15th to the 19th Century, and—made especially for the restoration—the furnishings, now placed alongside examples from earlier centuries. Visit Veliki Tabor. Veliki Tabor is a castle and museum dating from the twelfth century. The oldest part of the castle is the Five-Cornered Tower, built in the twelfth century. The other towers date from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. The collections in the exhibition spaces include old vehicles, ethnographic items, the first manufacture of medicines, swords and armor, paintings and pottery. Return to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 8: ZAGREB – NATIONAL PARK PLITVICE LAKES – ZAGREB

Depart to the National Park Plitvice Lakes. Sightseeing tour of the National Park Plitvice Lakes entered on the UNESCO’S List of World Cultural Heritage – sixteen lakes, each at a different level, connected in a series of cascading waterfalls in a rare and unique way. Return to the hotel and overnight.

Day 9: ZAGREB – PULA – ZAGREB

Depart to Pula. Visit the most famous sight in Pula the Roman amphitheatre, which is called The Arena built during the 1st century AD and completed under the reign of Emperor Flavius, this amphitheatre is the sixth largest remaining one in the world, the Triumphal Arch of the Sergii, the Temple of Augustus, the Forum - main square in Roman times and today a bustling piazza with many cafes and Hercules Gate - the oldest standing Roman monument. Return to the hotel. Shabbat

Day 10: ZAGREB

Day 11: ZAGREB – AIRPORT

Free time until departure for Airport.
