With the Quechua name meaning "Golden Cradel", the mysterious and dazzling Inca city of Choquequirao is located in the beautiful landscape of the Vilcabamba Range over the Apurimac River Canyon. Dense forest covered this Inca site for many years and it is just being revealed at this time. Enjoy beautiful views of the snow capped peaks of the Vilcabamba Range, descending into the deep Apurimac River Canyon and then ascending through abundant vegetation to the citadel of Choquequirao.

Day 1 - Cusco.-Arrival to Cusco & transfer to selected hotel. Pm Briefing.
Day 2 - CUSCO- SAYWITE - CACHORA - PAMPA WAQCHA
Pick up from the hotel and bus transfer to the Cachora town; along the way we will pass through the villages of Izcuchaca, Zurite and Limatambo. After crossing the Cunyac Bridge over the Apurimac River, we will visit the Saywite archaeological site. We will continue to Cachora (2,910 m) and establish our first campsite to include excellent views of Nevado Salkantay (6,271 m) and the mountains of the Vilcabamba Range. Food: Snack, Lunch, Snack and Dinner.
Day 3- PAMPA WAQCHA - MIRADOR – ROSALINA
We will walk toward the Apurimac River Canyon and have the opportunity to meet farming peasants as well to appreciate the spectacular Vilcabamba Mountain views. Later, we will descend to the bottom of the Apurimac Canyon, one of the deepest in the world, and will observe the climate and vegetation changes. When we reach the river head, we will set up our camp site near the hanging bridge (1,580 m). Food: Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack and Dinner.
Day 4- ROSALINA - MARAMPATA – RAQYAPATA
After crossing the hanging bridge over the Apurimac River, we will start a demanding ascent to the Santa Rosa sector (2,290 m). After a time, we will notice that the heat and the vegetation have increased. A few hours later, we will reach the Marampata sector where we will have an excellent view of the strategically located citadel of Choquequirao, embedded in the mountains that rule the impressive landscape. We will continue on to the Raqyapata sector where we will establish our camp site and will enjoy the beautiful sunset. Food: Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack and Dinner.
Day 5- CHOQUEQUIRAO - RAQYAPATA - SANTA ROSA
After a short time passing through lush vegetation, we will arrive at the beautiful Choquequirao citadel (3,110 m). While visiting the archaeological complex and its surroundings, we will have spectacular views of the landscape that surround this fantastic Inca site. In the afternoon, we will descend to our camp located in the Santa Rosa sector (2,290 m). Food: Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack and Dinner.
Day 6- SANTA ROSA - ROSALINA - CACHORA – CUSCO
We will descend to the hanging bridge over the Apurimac River and will head toward the town of Cachora. Along the way we will enjoy views of the Nevado Salkantay and the mountains of the Vilcabamba Range and the Apurimac Canyon. From Cachora we will return to the hotel in Cusco. Food: Breakfast, Snack, Lunch.
Day 7- Transfer from hotel to airport.
