Vacation Activities Detail Information
Day 1: Makgadikgadi Region, Kalahari Desert, Botswana

The group will meet their guide in the reception area of the Sedia Hotel (Maun) and get transferred to the Maun Airport. A very scenic light aircraft flight will take you to a private airstrip on the western border of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, Kalahari Desert, Botswana. Arriving at a luxury lodge west of the Makgadikgadi Pans you will be welcomed by the friendly staff and have some time to relax and settle in. Later in the afternoon you will depart on a guided 4x4 open vehicle game drive.

The Makgadikgadi Pans National Park has an estimated population of 30 000 Zebra and Wildebeest closely accompanied by territorial predators, offering guests a great opportunity of experiencing the excitement of the interaction between large wildlife concentrations and the predators that hunt them. Arriving back at the lodge around sunset, you will have time to freshen up before dinner. After dinner you can enjoy some drinks around a crackling camp fire underneath a spectacular African night sky.

Day 2: Makgadikgadi Region, Kalahari Desert, Botswana

An early morning wakeup call and a light breakfast before you head out on a guided 4x4 open vehicle game drive in search of the wildlife that inhabits the area. The surrounding area features abundant lion, zebra and wildebeest, with chances of seeing bushbuck, leopard, cheetah, brown- and spotted-hyena, impala, kudu, jackal, porcupine, and the rare white rhino to name a few. Returning from an exciting game drive you will have some time to relax before a buffet brunch is served.

The rest of the afternoon is to be spent at own leisure. You can go on a guided walk in the area around the lodge, have a cultural experience at a nearby village, do some game viewing from a wildlife hide near the lodge, or just laze beside the pool with a good book enjoying the scenery. In the late afternoon you will venture out on a guided game drive and have sundowner drinks at a scenic location in the Kalahari. After dinner you can enjoy some drinks / coffee / liquors around the campfire.

Day 3: Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

If time allows the early morning is free for one more game drive or walk. After breakfast a very scenic light aircraft flight will take you from the Makgadikgadi Region to a private airstrip in the Okavango Delta. Rated one of the most scenic flights in Africa, your pilot will answer any questions you might have about the Delta and point out herds of wildlife. Everyone gets a window seat so remember to have your camera handy. Upon arrival at the luxury camp you will be welcomed by the friendly staff and have time to settle in before a lovely buffet brunch is served.

The rest of the afternoon is free to relax, do some guided bird watching or game viewing from the camp, ask the guide to take you on a boat cruise or maybe a walk, or just laze beside the pool and enjoy the scenery in one of Africa’s most special places. Later in the afternoon you will enjoy high tea before you depart on your guided afternoon game activity (approximately 3 hours) with sun downers in a scenic location. You will explore the lagoons and waterways of the Okavango Delta by motorboat. The bird life is abundant and diverse, and other sightings include hippos and crocodiles, and the chance to watch big game having a drink or a bath in the water. Return from the guided game viewing activity around sunset and have some time to freshen up before pre dinner drinks and snacks are served, followed by an a la carte or table d’hôte dinner.

Day 4: Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

An early morning wakeup call to make the most of the day. A light breakfast with freshly brewed coffee and tea is served before you depart on the morning game viewing activity (3 – 4 hours). Conducted in open 4x4 safari vehicles, you will enjoy an exhilarating game drive tracking wildlife in the beautiful surroundings of the Moremi Game Reserve, a protected area notorious for frequent sightings of lion, leopard and cheetah. Sightings of the African Wild Dog are also frequently reported, an endangered species whose numbers are rapidly decreasing in other regions of Southern Africa.

After an exciting game drive you will return to the camp and have some time to relax and freshen up before a buffet lunch is served. After lunch you will have some time to relax. In the late afternoon you will go on a guided game viewing activity (game drive or boat cruise approximately 3 hours) and return to camp around sunset. Have some time to freshen up before pre-dinner drinks and snacks are served, followed by an a la carte or table d’hôte dinner.

Day 5: Savute Game Reserve, Botswana

If time allows the early morning is free for one more game drive or walk. After breakfast a very scenic light aircraft flight will take you from the Okavango Delta to a landing strip in the Savute Game Reserve. This is a very scenic flight across some of Africa’s best game viewing destinations and your guide and the pilot will answer any questions you might have about the areas and point out herds of wildlife. Everyone gets a window seat so remember to have your camera handy. Upon arrival at our luxury camp overlooking the Savute Channel you will be welcomed by the friendly staff and have time to settle in before a buffet brunch is served. The area is renowned for its population of bull elephant and for the unique interaction of the resident predator species.

The rest of the afternoon is free to relax, do some guided bird watching or game viewing from the camp, ask the guide to take you on a walk, or just laze beside the pool and enjoy the scenery in one of Africa’s most special places. Day 6: Savute Game Reserve, Botswana

An early morning wakeup call to make the most of the day. A light breakfast with freshly brewed coffee and tea is served before you depart on a morning game viewing activity (3 – 4 hours). Conducted in open 4x4 safari vehicles, you will enjoy an exhilarating game drive tracking wildlife in the beautiful surroundings of the Savute Game Reserve, including the famous Savute Marsh. The Savute is especially famous for its lions hunting fully grown elephants, truly one of Africa’s top game viewing destinations.

Day 7: Chobe National Park, Botswana

After an exciting morning game viewing activity and an enjoyable breakfast you get transferred to the landing strip near the camp for a scenic light aircraft flight to Kasane Airport, Chobe National Park. Upon arrival at the lodge you will check in at reception and confirm times for your included Chobe River Cruise and morning & afternoon game drives at the activity centre of the lodge. A buffet lunch is served in the dining area of the lodge overlooking the Chobe River.

You have some time to settle in and relax in the beautiful surroundings of the lodge, do some bird watching, laze beside the pool, or enjoy the breathtaking views from the lodge across the Chobe River and the Chobe National Park beyond. One can truly unwind with the common sound of grunting hippo’s and the cry of the African Fish Eagle in the background. Later in the afternoon you will depart for the Chobe River Cruise that lasts for approximately 3 hours (confirm time upon arrival at lodge).

Rated one of the best game viewing river cruises in Africa, you will have excellent photographic opportunities of spectacular bird life and wildlife on the banks of the Chobe River, not to mention the multitude of hippo’s and crocodiles that inhabit the river. Enjoy sun downers while watching a beautiful African sunset over the Chobe. Return to the lodge after sunset, have time to freshen up before a scrumptious buffet dinner is served.

Day 8: Chobe National Park, Botswana

An early morning wake up call and a quick coffee or tea before you head out on a guided 4x4 open vehicle game drive into the Chobe National Park for approximately 3 hours (confirm departure time upon arrival at lodge). The Chobe National Park is famous for the largest concentrations of elephants on earth, but one can also see Lion, Leopard, big herds of Buffalo, Cheetah, the endangered African Wild Dog, Hyena and a large variety of great antelopes to name a few. The Chobe also offers some of Africa’s best bird watching.

After an exciting game drive you return to the lodge and have a scrumptious buffet breakfast. Have time to relax, try some fishing, visit the town of Kasane, or alternatively relax at the lodge making use of the many facilities available. Later in the afternoon depart on an afternoon guided game drive in the Chobe National Park. Afternoon game drive lasts for approximately 3 hours and you return to the lodge around sunset. Enjoy a buffet dinner and have the rest of the evening at leisure enjoying the facilities at the lodge.

Day 9: Livingstone & The Victoria Falls, Zambia

After breakfast the group meets their guide in the reception area of the lodge for a short road transfer to the Kazungula border post where the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers meet. The Fly in Safari Co. guide will assist the group with border procedures and visas at the Kazungula border post and crossing the Zambezi River into Zambia. A road transfer (approximately 1 hour) from Kazungula border takes the group to Livingstone. Upon arrival at the luxury hotel located above the mighty Victoria Falls you will check in at reception. A variety of optional activities can be booked from the comfort of the hotel including; white water rafting, elephant back safaris, a lion encounter and a ‘Flight of Angels’ over the Falls to name a few.

Any optional activities should be booked upon arrival at the hotel to avoid disappointment. You have some time at own leisure to settle in. Later in the afternoon you will enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River that lasts for approximately 3 hours (confirm time with hotel upon arrival) and includes all drinks and snacks. Enjoy a very relaxing river cruise and witness a breathtaking African sunset. Great wildlife and birdlife to be seen on the cruise. Arrive back at the hotel after sunset and have the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 10: Livingstone & The Victoria Falls, Zambia

After breakfast you will be met by your Fly in Safari Company guide in the reception area of the hotel. A short walk takes you to the mighty Victoria Falls, a protected area and World Heritage Site where you will experience a 2 hour guided tour of the magnificent Victoria Falls and surrounding area. Because of the spray of the Falls the area around the Falls is a natural rainforest and one can wonder along the charming paths through the forest for hours admiring one of Africa’s most spectacular attractions.

Your guide will tell you interesting facts about the Victoria Falls, and enlighten you about this natural wonder of the world. Return to the hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure. You can choose to relax in the lush surroundings of the hotel, laze beside the pool, or do some of the many optional activities available.

Day 11: South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

After breakfast the group will meet their guide in the reception area of the hotel for a transfer to the Livingstone Airport. Your tour starts at the Livingstone International Airport, Zambia, on a scheduled flight to the Mfuwe Airport, South Luangwa National Park, eastern Zambia. The unspoilt South Luangwa National Park is rated one of greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The concentration of game around the Luangwa river and its ox bow lagoons is among the most intense in Africa.

Upon arrival at the Mfuwe Airport near the South Luangwa National Park you will be met by our representative and transferred in 4x4 through the National Park to your bush lodge located on the banks of the Luangwa River. Great chances of seeing wildlife en route to the camp.

Upon arrival at the lodge you will be welcomed by the friendly staff and have time to settle in. This is true unspoiled African wilderness, and the chances of seeing wildlife wandering through the camp is excellent. Later in the afternoon you will depart on an open vehicle game drive in search of the wildlife that inhabits the South Luangwa National Park. On safari activities you will also have excellent photographic opportunities of especially predators like lion and leopard, and a variety of antelope and bird species. The area around the Luangwa River is especially popular for great sightings of big elephant and buffalo herds, and many hippo’s. Return to the lodge after sunset for dinner and an evening of leisure with your fellow travellers.

Day 12 & 13: South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

An early morning wake up call to make the most of the morning for game viewing. You depart on an open vehicle game drive, or guided walking safari for approximately 3 hours. As one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries, the South Luangwa National Park has over 60 different mammal species and over 400 different bird species that inhabit the park. The park is especially known for great sightings of lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, crocodile and hippo. With South Luangwa being the birthplace of the walking safari, this promises to be an unforgettable experience lead by extremely passionate and knowledgeable guides. On the walking safari you will have great photo opportunities with great chances of getting up close and personal to African wildlife. After an exciting morning safari activity return to the camp and have time at leisure to relax, laze beside the pool or enjoy a massage. In the late afternoon depart on a guided safari activity in the South Luangwa National Park and return to camp after sunset.

Day 14: Cape Maclear, Lake Malawi

If time allows, the morning is free to do one more game drive or maybe a walking safari. You will get transferred to Mfuwe Airport, approximately 30 kilometers by road with great chances of seeing wildlife en route. Board a light aircraft for a very scenic flight across the Zambian border into the warm heart of Africa, Malawi. Arriving at Lilongwe International Airport, our representative will assist the group with customs & immigration procedures and make sure everyone gets their passports stamped before you continue in light aircraft to Monkey Bay on the southern shores of Lake Malawi. Lake Malawi is Africa’s 3rd largest fresh water lake and 8th largest in the world. This great lakes’ tropical waters reportedly are the habitat of more species of fish than that of any other body of fresh water on Earth, thus offering spectacular fresh water scuba diving and snorkeling, a hidden treasure.

Upon arrival at the Monkey Bay airstrip, you will have a private luxury yacht awaiting you for a charter to Cape Maclear where you will spend two days on the shores of Lake Malawi. Gin and Tonics in hand, you set sail along the shores of this magnificent lake through the Lake Malawi National Park, and also have a lunch prepared on the yacht. Upon arrival at your luxury lodge on the beach in Cape Maclear, you will check in and have the rest of the day at leisure..

Day 15 & 16: Cape Maclear, Lake Malawi

Day is free to be spent at own leisure. A variety of activities are included; kayaking, dingy & Hobie cat sailing, cycling, snorkelling and fishing. The lodge also has a PADI Dive Centre that offers scuba diving courses. Alternatively guests can laze on the beach, beside the pool or explore Cape Maclear and its beautiful lush surrounds. The lodge is situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake Malawi National Park and offers excellent hiking or mountain biking. A variety of motorised watersports available.

Day 17 Lilongwe, Malawi

From Cape Maclear the group gets transferred by road through the densely vegetated mountain pass of the Lake Malawi National Park to the Monkey Bay landing strip. From Monkey Bay you will board a scenic light aircraft flight to Lilongwe International Airport where an unforgettable safari ends.
