Guaymas

 Guaymas is the most important port of the State of Sonora. In 1701 missionaries Eusebio Francisco Kino and Juan Maria de Salvatierra founded the Mission of San Jose de La Laguna few miles from where Guaymas now exists. In 1769 it was officially named San Jose de Guaymas and by 1859 it was declared a city.

 Cozumel is Mexico's largest island and is located 12 miles off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula on the Caribbean Ocean. It is an ideal place to go scuba diving. The peninsula comprises the Mexican states of Yucatan, Campeche, and Quintana Roo, the northern part of the nation of Belize, and Guatemala's northern department of El Peten.  Toluca, the capital city of the State of Mexico, is often omitted from the travel trek. However, with a lovely zolaco and truly unique botanical garden, Toluca is worth a short detour. Before your visit, keep in mind that Toluca is not a tourist town and you will find few English speakers at shops and restaurants.
