==== KOS - SIGHTSEEING

It has some quite well-preserved sights, such as the Knights of St John Castle dominating the harbour and ruins of ancient Roman buildings. The town has a 14th century fortress at the entrance to its harbour. When you want to see less crowd and more scenery and secluded beaches, head for the inland.

The famous Asklepieion (the former centre of Hippocratic teaching) is only some 45 minutes away and has a good opportunity to explore the surrounding villages such as Tigaki and Mastihari.
