Lidice Lidice was once a peaceful mining town located an hour or so from Prague. After the assasination of Nazi Reinherd Heydrich in 1942, the town was destroyed brick by brick. Not only was it destroyed, but it's citizens were either murdered, sent to concentration camps, or adopted for re-education. Today, there stands a monument dedicated to the memory of the town and its former inhabitants. The source of all the splendour and wealth of the town was silver ore extracted once in this region.
